Webinar: Elopement, Restraint/Seclusion, and Security. What We All Need to Know to Minimize Risk and Liabilities
July 14 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
In our July webinar, behavioral health expert Monica Cooke examines common situations that arise in behavioral healthcare settings and offers solutions to help mitigate those risks.
LHA Trust Funds consultants often receive questions related to elopements, restraints, seclusion, and the role of security within a healthcare organization. Many of these questions are situational and the answers can get complicated fast.
Behavioral healthcare expert Monica Cooke examines some of these situations and offers ideas to reduce the associated risks in a healthcare setting.
At the end of the webinar, participants should be able to:
- Identify the risks related to elopement, restraint, and seclusion.
- Discuss the definitions and guidelines around the use of restraints and seclusion.
- Describe strategies that can work to mitigate the risks of elopement, restraint, and seclusion while minimizing liability loss.
Participants will receive 1.0 nursing contact hours by the Louisiana Hospital Association for complete attendance of the program. The Louisiana Hospital Association is approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing – CE Provider #39.
As a Certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse, Monica continues to work at least two shifts a month as an RN in a detox and rehab treatment setting. She provides educational presentations at both the national and state levels and is recognized as an expert in the field of behavioral health risk and quality care.
