OVERVIEW
LHA Trust Funds consultants often receive questions related to elopements, restraints, seclusion, and the role of security within a healthcare organization. Many of these questions are situational and the answers can get complicated fast.
Behavioral healthcare expert Monica Cooke examines some of these situations and offers ideas to reduce the associated risks in a healthcare setting.
WEBINAR OBJECTIVES
At the end of the webinar, participants should be able to:
- Identify the risks related to elopement, restraint, and seclusion.
- Discuss the definitions and guidelines around the use of restraints and seclusion.
- Describe strategies that can work to mitigate the risks of elopement, restraint, and seclusion while minimizing liability loss.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Participants will receive 1.0 nursing contact hours by the Louisiana Hospital Association for complete attendance of the program. The Louisiana Hospital Association is approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing – CE Provider #39.
