Violence in the ED : Trends – Discussions – Solutions

June 16, 2016 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Overview

Join us for a Healthcare Symposium focused on preventing and managing violence in the Emergency Department.

The event day will consist of a morning session lead by Norris Yarbrough, Assistant VP Tulane University’s Emergency Preparedness & Response Program and Sgt. Roger Barnes, Community Policing Coordinator for the Tulane University Police Department. Norris and Roger will talk about the magnitude of the problem and why we should care; protecting patients, the staff and the public in the hospital emergency department; and how emergency department staff should deal with potentially violent individuals.

The afternoon session will build on conversation with and amongst of our panel of experts. Their discussion will be based on results of a recent survey that was conducted across the membership of the LHA Trust Funds and will be further augmented with open-mic questions and concerns from members of the audience.

We encourage you to invite members of your local law enforcement agencies to join you in attending this event. This symposium is offered to LHA Trust Funds members and invited guests. To ensure that we properly plan for the convenience and comfort of all who attend, registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
