The healthcare industry is currently experiencing an increased risk of violent workplace incidents that may put staff, including physicians, in danger. This webinar will help you identify and understand the behaviors displayed by individuals that could be warning signs for an impending violent incident. Registration is required for attendance.
In 2015, Ms. King was recruited to head UT Police at Houston’s threat assessment and criminal investigations units. Under her leadership, the units have expanded their capabilities using a multidisciplinary approach for the identification and mitigation of risks and threats. Ms. King’s work has caught the attention of leading experts and the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit, and Ms. King’s research and analysis of threat assessment instruments is breaking new ground and holds the promise of streamlining data collection for increased responsiveness. Successful interventions by the Threat Management Team include the interruption of one active shooter plan and the saving of five lives.
Ms. King earned a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Houston Downtown.
