Mr. Conrad Meyer is a board-certified health law specialist and a partner in the healthcare practice group at the Law Firm of Chehardy Sherman in Metairie, Louisiana.

He is also an adjunct professor of Health Law at Loyola School of Law in New Orleans and the University of New Orleans Health Administration Program. He is an AV – Pre-eminent rated attorney, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, and has been involved in the practice of Healthcare Law for over fifteen years.

Mr. Meyer focuses his practice on advising healthcare providers on healthcare regulations, compliance, transactional matters, and medical staff issues. He serves as a hearing officer for peer review hearings, as well as medical malpractice defense. He is also experienced in handling fraud and abuse, licensure issues for hospitals and physicians, and medical staff issues both for MEC and physicians.

Mr. Meyer frequently advises clients on the following issues: Stark/Anti-kickback analysis, TJC Regulations, HIPAA/HITECH, EMTALA, hospital/physician contracts, Medical Staff and Peer Review, Telemedicine, and Medicare Part B compliance.

He also frequently speaks to various industry groups including the Louisiana Hospital Association, LSU, Tulane School of Medicine Residency Programs; and both Tulane and Loyola Schools of Law. Mr. Meyer has also regularly contributed healthcare law issues to the ABA Health Law E-Source, Healthcare Journal of New Orleans, the Louisiana Medical News, and the New Orleans Bar Association’s publication of Briefly Speaking.

Outside of the office, Mr. Meyer is a significant participant in his community. He has worked as a member of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Committee for the past ten years chairing many committees and has helped the Bowl in its mission to develop tourism in Louisiana and New Orleans.
