When clinicians build strong patient relationships, it inevitably results in better patient satisfaction and care experiences. And strong patient-provider relationships aren’t just for the patient’s benefit. Clinicians also thrive and can avoid clinician burnout when they have meaningful relationships with their patients.
In fact, limited patient interaction is one of the biggest forces driving the clinician burnout epidemic. According to recent data from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), lacking patient relationships are still one of the biggest factors predicting physician unhappiness.
