Telehealth can help fill gaps in care delivery, enabling hospitals and health systems to remotely treat patients who cannot meet with their provider in person. Hospitals equipped with telehealth infrastructure give their providers the tools to deliver better care, connect with patients in remote locations who might face barriers in accessing specialty providers, and survey patients regularly to detect and manage chronic disease through remote patient monitoring devices.

Even though telehealth has significant potential to impact the healthcare industry, its widespread utilization remains limited and many hospitals are slow to integrate telehealth tools into their system.
