Objectives

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

• Review the fundamentals of mental health law for minors in Louisiana.
• Explain informed consent for treatment and access to records, along with healthcare provider privilege, specifically as they relate to minor patients.
• Apply correct terminology when accessing resources, gathering records, and documenting mental health histories.
