LHA Trust Funds is deeply committed to helping our members improve patient safety within their facilities.

That’s why our 2021 Funds For Safety grant program is back, offering $300,000 in funding for quality or patient safety initiatives. Over the years, Funds For Safety grants have provided $2.7 million to help Louisiana’s healthcare facilities and physicians create opportunities to improve patient safety and treatment.

Here is how the program works:

  • Your organization must be a member of the LHA Malpractice and General Liability Trust Fund.
  • Submit an application describing a specific quality or patient safety initiative with the goal of reducing patient harm and improving patient outcomes. Your project must include physician participation and have measurable results. View our full criteria list here.
  • Funds For Safety is a “reimbursement grant.” Grant monies awarded will be paid as laid out in your project budget or at the project’s completion. Grant funds can also be used to compensate participating physicians.
  • Grants range up to $25,000 per facility. Your facility may submit multiple applications, but can only receive a total of $25,000 for all submissions combined.

The deadline to apply is March 3, 2021. Grant winners will be announced on April 17, 2021.
