Optimizing Ventilator Use During the COVID-19 Pandemic


Ventilators are in short supply nationally. As an extreme measure, organizations may have to consider co-ventilating patients in an effort to optimize their use. In this article, the Surgeon General offers guidance with ventilator splitting but cautions that it should be a last resort.
